This is the preliminary (or launch) version of the 2023-2024 VCU Bulletin. This edition includes all programs and courses approved by the publication deadline; however we may receive notification of additional program approvals after the launch. The final edition and full PDF version will include these updates and will be available in August prior to the beginning of the fall semester.

The minimum course requirements, rules of admission to degree candidacy (as appropriate to degree level), language requirements, thesis or dissertation requirements for graduate degrees, comprehensive examinations, transfer of credits and the like are specified for each program on the individual program pages on this website. Additionally, many schools, programs and departments maintain websites and publish special brochures, student manuals and program guides that may be requested from the appropriate dean or program director.

All degree requirements are based on the official curriculum as approved by the university-level curriculum committees and as published in the effective VCU Bulletin of record. Degree Works is a self-service tool for students and advisers, and it is the official means used to confirm that students have completed requirements for graduation. Note: Degree Works may not be available to first-professional students or applicable to those programs.
