Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine requires that all medical students carry active health insurance. Health insurance benefits must be equal to or greater than those provided by the university health carrier. In addition, it is required that all students complete required immunizations within six months of matriculation and have repeat tuberculosis screening performed prior to the third-year clerkships.
