This is the preliminary (or launch) version of the 2025-2026 VCU Bulletin. Courses that expose students to cutting-edge content and transformative learning may be added and notification of additional program approvals may be received prior to finalization. General education program content is also subject to change. The final edition and full PDF version will include these updates and will be available in August prior to the beginning of the fall semester.
The minor in education is meant to allow students to further explore educational theories and practices. Students who complete this minor will not meet the requirements needed for teacher licensure in the state of Virginia as outlined by the Virginia Department of Education. For information regarding licensure, please contact the School of Education’s Student Services Center.
Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.8 to declare a minor in education and must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8 throughout the course work in the minor. The minor in education requires a minimum of 18 credits, consisting of the following:
