This is the preliminary (or launch) version of the 2026-2027 VCU Bulletin. Courses that expose students to cutting-edge content and transformative learning may be added and notification of additional program approvals may be received prior to finalization. General education program content is also subject to change. The final edition and full PDF version will include these updates and will be available in August prior to the beginning of the fall semester.
A minor in public health and the arts consists of 18 credits, nine of which must be taken at the 300 level. The minor will provide students with an introduction to public health, health promotion and the different media of art, and will give them the opportunity to frame how these can be combined to relay health information and the impact of health programming. The minor is a great complement for students in the arts or other humanities disciplines, who are interested in community work but unsure how to do so within their discipline. It is also an excellent option for those who want to improve community health through creative expression.
