The minor in education is meant to allow students to further explore educational theories and practices. Students who complete this minor will not meet the requirements needed for teacher licensure in the state of Virginia as outlined by the Virginia Department of Education. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.8 to declare a minor in education and must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8 throughout the course work in the minor. The minor in education requires a minimum of 18 credits, consisting of the following:
