This is the preliminary (or launch) version of the 2025-2026 VCU Bulletin. Courses that expose students to cutting-edge content and transformative learning may be added and notification of additional program approvals may be received prior to finalization. General education program content is also subject to change. The final edition and full PDF version will include these updates and will be available in August prior to the beginning of the fall semester.

The Department of Neuroscience and Anatomy offers education and research programs for Ph.D. and M.S. students in areas that span cellular to systems neuroscience. The department maintains dynamic research groups in glial cell biology, central nervous system circuit function, nervous system injury and repair, and molecular mechanisms of neuropsychiatric disorders. Postdoctoral scientists who wish to advance their skills in these areas are also welcome.

Students who complete the requirements for the below will receive a Master of Science in Anatomy and Neurobiology.
